Using the color models

To use the color models, display the ColorChooser window. If necessary, display the hidden menu (click with the right mouse button over the title bar), and choose RGB Sliders, HSV Sliders and/or Color Wheel to make the relevant controls appear.

Use the sliders to set the values of the various color components and of the opacity (see Using sliders).

Using the grayscale model

The grayscale model sets different shades of gray by using the grayscale slider to vary the brightness over the range 0 - 1:

Using the RGB model

The RGB model sets colors by varying the values of their red, green and blue components over the range 0 - 255.

To get black, set the values of all the components to 0; to get white, set all the values to 255.

Using the HSV model

The HSV model sets colors by varying the values of their hue, saturation, and brightness (or 'value') components. The hue has a value between 0 and 360; this corresponds to an angle on a color wheel, so the values 0 and 360 give almost exactly the same hue. The saturation and brightness are in the range 0 - 100.

When using this model, you will probably find it easiest to set the hue, then the saturation, and finally the brightness. To get black, set the saturation and brightness to 0; to get white, set the saturation to 0 and the brightness to 100.
